Had to get a new moniter

Last night , I was working on the computer and the screen started messing up. It would shrink and expand and then we smelt a metal burning smell.
I had time to turn the computer off. Well , the old cathode tube monitor is history. We had to go get one today. Fortunately Jeff did some overtime so it did not hurt the wallet too bad.
We were able to get a really good one. It is a viewsonic , 24 inch wide screen HD monitor.
It was cheaper than I thought it would be. It is a great monitor. Only problem is, now it shows the computer really needs to be updated. Oh , well that is coming in about a month or so.

The weather is now getting real hot. Air is dry, summer is here. Bugs are out and about. Now we gotta be careful about mosquitoes and flys and ickey things. They are fine outside , but I don't want them in the house. Took Jewell the dog into the vet last week. She passed her heartworm test. Got new heartworm medicine. So she is good for the year.

The cats are still silly, some of them have been sleeping on the old moniter. They were really suprised when there was no big back on the moniter.

Well , more later.

Memorial Day

Hello, got some pictures of Jeff in his American Legion outfit. We had hamburgers and brats for dinner , Sean cooked them on the grill. He is pretty good.
This is the grave they laid the wreath at. He was killed in the first gulf war.

He is Jeff and the others in the rifle squad for the 21 gun salute.

We also went to the cemetery where my grandpa, dad and brother are. Hard to believe grandpa has been dead for 25 years already. Stephen , my brother , has been gone for 19 years and dad for 15 years. Time does march on , doesn't it. Everyone here is doing good. Joe went to the lake with his girlfriend and her family.
The rest of us just stayed around here. Jeff and I did some running around , though. I got Jacob a lotus phone from Sprint for his 17th birthday. It was resetting itself , so I took it to the repair store. They tested it and the function to send information out and receive it kept failing , so they gave him a brand new phone. It was still in the warranty period. First time I have heard of one of those failing, but you are not going to get 100% with anything. Had no problems with the store or anything.

I am seriously thinking of canceling my T-Mobile account. They are making me irritated to say the least. Three of us have the same type of phone on the T-Mobile. Mine will not hold a charge for an entire day. By 12 hours after I take it off the charger it has lost half to 3 quarters of the battery charge, whether I use it or not.Sharon's is doing the same thing, hers looses most of the charge before the day is out. I called T-Mobile about mine and they were not very helpful at all , they said take it to a store to have them check it out. I take it to the store and all they did was give me a battery , and I don't think it was a new one. Needless to say , it did not work.
Only problem , all the phones are still under contract. I may just cancel the whole thing, pay the same bill I have been paying, to pay off the cancellation fees and just put them on my Sprint account, I don't pay anything for my services and the amt for others on my account is cheaper than the T-Mobile bill, plus they would get a lot more services, like web access for real cheap.

So, other than that , every thing is going ok. I dug up some of the little elm trees that sprout this spring. Put them in some pots. When we can get our own place, I will plant them around the place. I know it will take a while for them to grow , but that is ok .
Well, I will have more later, bye for now

update

Well, made it through April.

Been at work for a month. It is pretty good. The work environment is a lot better than it was at convergys. Of course, getting a free phone with unlimited minutes for free is pretty good too.

Today has been something else. First our oldest daughter had gallbladder surgery this morning. We were up at the hospital at six am. Her surgery went great and she is fine and at home.

Yesterday on the way home the oldest had to call us to come pick him up. His fuel pump went out.
Cars don't work very well without fuel to the engine. Joe is not sure yet what he is going to do. It will cost over $700 to get it fixed at a shop. That is because the fuel pump is inside the gas tank. That means you have to take the fuel tank off the car, it is a big project. Joe's girl fiend's father said he can fix it , so he made go that route.

The weather today was not real good . It rained most of the day. Fortunately there was no wind or storming or anything. Just good , old, rain. Parts of Oklahoma are underwater. Glad that is not happening here. The rain has stopped for now, but there is supposed to be more on the way tonight.

Not doing too much on the needlework, been too tired when I get home. I think the fact that it takes almost an hour to get home after work is to blame. The trip should only take 35 minutes. But the only way to get there and back in a timely manner is the highway. There are a lot of idiots on the road. There are people that don't know how to use the turn signal on the car. There are folks that don't seem to know that their cars have headlights, they have no idea what a safe lane change distance is .

Well , time to get dinner together , talk some more later.
