Homemade laundry soap

Well, it has been about 24 hours since I made my laundry soap, I am getting ready to put it into the containers so I can use it .I will let you know how it goes. Also, I am going to try the vinegar with lavender oil to see if that works good for a laundry rinse.

Laundry Soap

Well, I made some laundry soap tonight. I will let you know how it works.........

Pets

I miss the pets that died of old age complications, but I am ok with their loss , they lived a good life. The ones I mourn are the ones that died too early, a two year old cat that died from lymphoma, a 2 year old cat that we think died of heart worm infection, a 5 year that had a ruptured aorta from a car accident (all my animals are inside animals now), an 8 year old cat died from complications of bladder syndrome, a 2 and half year old boxer/pit mix who was beaten by a previous owner (I rescued her from the street) , she developed seizures that caused rage attack, I had to put her down after she almost hurt my other dog. These animals I miss the most , like humans  that pass before their time, these are the ones that are hardest to deal with.

New pictures of the dogs

I have some new pictures of my silly dogs on my webshots site.

The Cats

Since I last posted , we lost Miss Kitty. She developed hyperthyroidism. She was on meds for a while. They worked pretty good. A few months ago she suddenly went downhill. She stopped eating or drinking very much. We took her to the vet on a Friday, brought her home for the night , then took her back to the vet Saturday morning for euthanasia , we then took her to the pet cemetery for cremation. We cremated her because we do not have a place to bury our kittys yet.

Last night I thought we might loose Sylvester . He would not walk. He would drink and eat if we put it near him.
His arthritis in his back was acting up real bad. We had a weather system move in and it aggravated his back. He was doing better this morning , but I took him to the vet any way. She said , yes , it was time for him to get his arthritis shots again. We take him in every two weeks for a shot (total of 3) . That will take care of him for another year. He seems to feel better tonight. He is funny though. He knows it will hurt to get up on the sofa so he can lay down next to us , but he insists on climbing up there any way. We have to let him do it on his own though, we hurt him if we try to help.Right now he is sleeping by the fridge, it has warm air from the motor that blows out and there is a heater vent there too. He is also  hoping some one will drop some turkey or tuna or something on the floor. The dogs keep checking on him to make sure he is ok.

Well gotta go let the dogs in , talk some more later.

November

I have not been keeping up with this very well.
Today I have a gripe, but a triumph.
Every thing on the internet has their own search engine. It is a pain in the butt. I have spent the last hour getting rid or them . finally figured out how to do it on Google Chrome. I kept getting directed to 6topsearches.com, DO NOT GO TO THIS SEARCH ENGINE. On my computer it goes nowhere, just sits there and makes you mad.
Well, I got rid of the POS. I only want Google and Yahoo. I am familiar with them , I like them and I know how to use them.

Winter

It is freezing cold again. We are supposed to get more snow tonight , anywhere from nothing to over 12 inches.
I don't like the cold. It makes my feet hurt , and my hands, and it makes it hard to breathe. It really makes my asthma act up.
Most of the snow from last week is melted. The one year old dog loves the snow , does not mind the cold. She was pouncing and diving like she was a fox stalking something , and she was eating it. She is pretty heavy, has a thick body so the cold does not bother her, but then Pebbles is a kid dog so she does not know it is cold out.

Jewell likes the snow, but it is way too cold for her. She is not skinny, but she is a more slender dog, so she is not fond of the cold. She does like to chase the snow balls and things if you throw them . She loves trying to find the wild rabbits that live in the back yard. Neighbor said he has seen field rats in the area, we are close to some fields, I have not seen any. The rats would be stupid to be in our yard though, the dogs would worry them to death

Pebbles when we got her

Pebbles from last month, she loves that bone in her mouth
We got Pebbles last year in March , she is supposed to be a Australian Shepard / English Setter.

Hello again

Well, it is now February 2011.
Been busy, not busy here though . Much later.

Thursday, October 08, 2009

Hello there

Hey , whats going on ?
It is already October, wow , where does the time go ?
Sharon turned 21 last month. Joe will turn 25 this Christmas.
Speaking of Christmas, it is coming up fast. Not ready for Halloween even.
The weather is just wacky right now. It is rainy, the temperature goes from 57 to 81 so far today.
I had to go to the doctor last Monday , I was having an asthma attack. Got some steroids from the doctor, I am just now starting to feel better. Jacob was in the emergency room last month. He was not there for his blood pressure, but it was up. I took him to the doctor today to get that checked out. His pressure is fine. No problems there.
The cats are doing just fine, so is the dog, they are all crazy chasing each other around last night. The kittys are not impressed by Jewell at all. It is funny, she walks up to them and they look at her , like 'what do you want now'.

well, talk some more later, bye

Where has the time gone

Wow, been a while since I posted anything.
Been busy this summer working and stuff. I am on the 1 to 10 pm shift. Missing the rush hour traffic is fine but I don't care for the hours, hard to get anything done. By the time I get home , I can't go to bed right away. Traffic winds me up , there are so many idiots on the road. People are so stupid, be nice if they would use their traffic signals and get in the lane they need to be before they are on top of it.

Everyone around here is fine. Joe went active duty with the Marines for a little while, the contractor he was working for cut back and of course Joe got cut.
My job and Jeff's job are going full blast. Jeff is working the 3 to midnight schedule.

We are going to be going to Ohio to go to a niece's wedding soon. Joe is staying because he is on active duty.

OK , now for my rant...Michael Vic got out of jail. That is fine, he served the sentence he was given. Personally , I think he should have been sentenced to a lot longer, just like if he made kids fight and killed them when they did not perform. People that into power like that don't limit it to animals. Those dogs did not come up to Vic and tell him, "Hey , I wanna go fight to the death!" any more than abuse victims of any age say , I want to be beat to death. To me there is no difference. God did not give us the right to abuse animals, they should be treated with dignity. If we are going to eat that cow, fine , but let it be a cow for a while and when you do kill it , do it in a fast way that will not make it suffer.
To top off what Vic did , he was picked up by the Eagles NFL team. That is another reason I don't like the NFL, to violent in the first place and they hire felons and convicts. Seems they do that a lot. How many of the NFL players have proven low morals, like beating their girlfriend/wife? Or have drug convictions, not just one , but multiple times. How many get picked up for multiple traffic violations or being drunk.
Yes, there are a lot of good men in the NFL, but unfortunately there are a lot of bad men in there that should be cleaned out. Make the NFL a clean sport. The players get paid enough to behave themselves. Why don't the managers make them? The excuse that the people do not care about off field character if *** ****. Just because everyone else jumps off the cliff does not mean you should.
So anyway , I think I am done for now.
Bye

Had to get a new moniter

Last night , I was working on the computer and the screen started messing up. It would shrink and expand and then we smelt a metal burning smell.
I had time to turn the computer off. Well , the old cathode tube monitor is history. We had to go get one today. Fortunately Jeff did some overtime so it did not hurt the wallet too bad.
We were able to get a really good one. It is a viewsonic , 24 inch wide screen HD monitor.
It was cheaper than I thought it would be. It is a great monitor. Only problem is, now it shows the computer really needs to be updated. Oh , well that is coming in about a month or so.

The weather is now getting real hot. Air is dry, summer is here. Bugs are out and about. Now we gotta be careful about mosquitoes and flys and ickey things. They are fine outside , but I don't want them in the house. Took Jewell the dog into the vet last week. She passed her heartworm test. Got new heartworm medicine. So she is good for the year.

The cats are still silly, some of them have been sleeping on the old moniter. They were really suprised when there was no big back on the moniter.

Well , more later.

Memorial Day

Hello, got some pictures of Jeff in his American Legion outfit. We had hamburgers and brats for dinner , Sean cooked them on the grill. He is pretty good.
This is the grave they laid the wreath at. He was killed in the first gulf war.

He is Jeff and the others in the rifle squad for the 21 gun salute.

We also went to the cemetery where my grandpa, dad and brother are. Hard to believe grandpa has been dead for 25 years already. Stephen , my brother , has been gone for 19 years and dad for 15 years. Time does march on , doesn't it. Everyone here is doing good. Joe went to the lake with his girlfriend and her family.
The rest of us just stayed around here. Jeff and I did some running around , though. I got Jacob a lotus phone from Sprint for his 17th birthday. It was resetting itself , so I took it to the repair store. They tested it and the function to send information out and receive it kept failing , so they gave him a brand new phone. It was still in the warranty period. First time I have heard of one of those failing, but you are not going to get 100% with anything. Had no problems with the store or anything.

I am seriously thinking of canceling my T-Mobile account. They are making me irritated to say the least. Three of us have the same type of phone on the T-Mobile. Mine will not hold a charge for an entire day. By 12 hours after I take it off the charger it has lost half to 3 quarters of the battery charge, whether I use it or not.Sharon's is doing the same thing, hers looses most of the charge before the day is out. I called T-Mobile about mine and they were not very helpful at all , they said take it to a store to have them check it out. I take it to the store and all they did was give me a battery , and I don't think it was a new one. Needless to say , it did not work.
Only problem , all the phones are still under contract. I may just cancel the whole thing, pay the same bill I have been paying, to pay off the cancellation fees and just put them on my Sprint account, I don't pay anything for my services and the amt for others on my account is cheaper than the T-Mobile bill, plus they would get a lot more services, like web access for real cheap.

So, other than that , every thing is going ok. I dug up some of the little elm trees that sprout this spring. Put them in some pots. When we can get our own place, I will plant them around the place. I know it will take a while for them to grow , but that is ok .
Well, I will have more later, bye for now

update

Well, made it through April.

Been at work for a month. It is pretty good. The work environment is a lot better than it was at convergys. Of course, getting a free phone with unlimited minutes for free is pretty good too.

Today has been something else. First our oldest daughter had gallbladder surgery this morning. We were up at the hospital at six am. Her surgery went great and she is fine and at home.

Yesterday on the way home the oldest had to call us to come pick him up. His fuel pump went out.
Cars don't work very well without fuel to the engine. Joe is not sure yet what he is going to do. It will cost over $700 to get it fixed at a shop. That is because the fuel pump is inside the gas tank. That means you have to take the fuel tank off the car, it is a big project. Joe's girl fiend's father said he can fix it , so he made go that route.

The weather today was not real good . It rained most of the day. Fortunately there was no wind or storming or anything. Just good , old, rain. Parts of Oklahoma are underwater. Glad that is not happening here. The rain has stopped for now, but there is supposed to be more on the way tonight.

Not doing too much on the needlework, been too tired when I get home. I think the fact that it takes almost an hour to get home after work is to blame. The trip should only take 35 minutes. But the only way to get there and back in a timely manner is the highway. There are a lot of idiots on the road. There are people that don't know how to use the turn signal on the car. There are folks that don't seem to know that their cars have headlights, they have no idea what a safe lane change distance is .

Well , time to get dinner together , talk some more later.

Started my new job today

I started my new job today.I think it will be a lot better than the last one.
The Sprint building is a lot cleaner. It just looks more pleasant all around.
I won't use the free cell service, we just started a new contract with T-Mobile, I like T-Mobile
though, been with them for over 5 years.

Poor Jewell was looking for me today. It is the first day in four weeks I have not been home all
day, so the poor doggie is missing me. Hopefully she will adjust. With summer coming on , she can spend time outdoors chasing that silly squirrel that has been bothering her all winter.

Plus , she likes to watch the birds in the trees. She sure is a silly dog. Sharon said she was eating the seed pods from the maple trees. Goofy puppy.

Well, got some stuff to do and the weather is acting up . more later

got my pattern

Finally got my pattern. Had to use my daughter's laptop. I think there is something going on with my desktop. I know the processor is way outta date. We really need to get a new mother board, and tower. but we need to get a house first or find out when we can get a house.

I started a Heaven and Earth Designs pattern yesterday, it is the Black Stallion pattern. I am doing it on 22 ct aida. 22ct is small for me , so I have a magnifier to use while I am stitching it.
I will post pictures later, need to get them out of my phone, the digital camera is not working to well

The internet is being STUPID today. It will not let get into the Pappilion cross stitch site so I can download the free patterns. I can't get into the newsletter part or navigate around the site. I think I am going to scream.

First Multiply Post

Hey everyone,
This is my first Multiply post.

I got a new job. I will start working at the Sprint call center here in Oklahoma City on March 30..
Only problem will be , I live in Moore , OK . Moore is on the other side of the city. I have 25 miles of highway between me and work I will get used to it, but it is a big difference between less than 5 minutes to the old job and 35 minutes (on a good day) to the new one.Oh well, such is life.

It is cold today. Was cool yesterday and warm the day before. We could get snow tonight. Oklahoma has some weird weather. It can go from 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the morning to below freezing by sunset. I have seen and felt it myself. True story.

My poor dog did not want to go outside this evening. She usually loves it outside. She has a squirrel friend that teases her out back. I have seen her set for an hour watching that silly thing hoping it would fall out of the tree. Not sure what she would do if it did fall though, probably run the opposite direction, fast. Jewell is a funny dog. She is a black lab/sheltie mix with something else. She has these long legs and little body , so she looks like a puppy. She really is cute, I will get a new picture of her and post it here on my blog. She loves to chase the cats around the house. She does not realize they don't like her , that or she does not care.

Ok , well , that is enough for tonight , gonna work on the site a little then go to bed. Got stuff to do tomorrow.
bye
