I started my new job today.I think it will be a lot better than the last one.
The Sprint building is a lot cleaner. It just looks more pleasant all around.
I won't use the free cell service, we just started a new contract with T-Mobile, I like T-Mobile
though, been with them for over 5 years.
Poor Jewell was looking for me today. It is the first day in four weeks I have not been home all
day, so the poor doggie is missing me. Hopefully she will adjust. With summer coming on , she can spend time outdoors chasing that silly squirrel that has been bothering her all winter.
Plus , she likes to watch the birds in the trees. She sure is a silly dog. Sharon said she was eating the seed pods from the maple trees. Goofy puppy.
Well, got some stuff to do and the weather is acting up . more later

got my pattern
Finally got my pattern. Had to use my daughter's laptop. I think there is something going on with my desktop. I know the processor is way outta date. We really need to get a new mother board, and tower. but we need to get a house first or find out when we can get a house.
I started a Heaven and Earth Designs pattern yesterday, it is the Black Stallion pattern. I am doing it on 22 ct aida. 22ct is small for me , so I have a magnifier to use while I am stitching it.
I will post pictures later, need to get them out of my phone, the digital camera is not working to well

the internet
The internet is being STUPID today. It will not let get into the Pappilion cross stitch site so I can download the free patterns. I can't get into the newsletter part or navigate around the site. I think I am going to scream.

First Multiply Post
Hey everyone,
This is my first Multiply post.
I got a new job. I will start working at the Sprint call center here in Oklahoma City on March 30..
Only problem will be , I live in Moore , OK . Moore is on the other side of the city. I have 25 miles of highway between me and work I will get used to it, but it is a big difference between less than 5 minutes to the old job and 35 minutes (on a good day) to the new one.Oh well, such is life.
It is cold today. Was cool yesterday and warm the day before. We could get snow tonight. Oklahoma has some weird weather. It can go from 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the morning to below freezing by sunset. I have seen and felt it myself. True story.
My poor dog did not want to go outside this evening. She usually loves it outside. She has a squirrel friend that teases her out back. I have seen her set for an hour watching that silly thing hoping it would fall out of the tree. Not sure what she would do if it did fall though, probably run the opposite direction, fast. Jewell is a funny dog. She is a black lab/sheltie mix with something else. She has these long legs and little body , so she looks like a puppy. She really is cute, I will get a new picture of her and post it here on my blog. She loves to chase the cats around the house. She does not realize they don't like her , that or she does not care.
Ok , well , that is enough for tonight , gonna work on the site a little then go to bed. Got stuff to do tomorrow.
bye

Lets try this again
Yesterday I tried to post a post.
It evaporated, don't have any idea where it went.
Any way, I am going to try again.
Today started out interesting. We had a earthquake. Yep, right here in Oklahoma. We actually have a lot of earthquakes each year. This one was a 3.7 , I believe is what the media said. I slept through it. Jeff (DH) said it sounded like someone had slammed the front door real hard. He said one of the bedroom walls shook. I probably thought it was the door, that is why I did not pay any attention to it. It happened at about 8 am. Nothing was damaged. The earthquakes in this part of the country are deep in the earth. There are several deep fault lines under the middle of the U.S.
The seismographs at the universities around here are pretty active.
So , I lost my job at Convergys on Tuesday this pas week. That afternoon I applied online to the Sprint call center that is in Oklahoma City. I got a call that afternoon to come in for an interview that next day. As long as I pass the drug test and the background check, I should have a job sometime next week. I am going to see if I can get the training class that starts on March 30. The bad thing about working at Sprint is that the center is 25 miles away , one way. I may end up getting rid of my grand am and getting something that gets better gas mileage . It is all highway there and back, so that is not too bad. I just hope I get a shift that does not start or end at rush hour.
My daughter Sharon still has some more tests to see if the docs can find out what is wrong with her stomach. She does not have gall stones , but the doctor still thinks she has gall bladder disease. The doctor can't just send her to surgery without proof of a diagnosis, it would be medically unethically to operate with out a good reason. He thinks she may be diabetic. She has a doctor appointment to check that out next week. I hope she is fine and just needs to be careful with her diet and exercise and that kind of thing , she is only 20 . We have a strong family history for diabetes though. My mother is a diet/oral medication controlled diabetic, her sister and brother are diabetic. My first cousin has a child that has juvenile diabetes. So that is a lot of people with diabetes right there. Jeff's mom has hypoglycemia , which is a form of diabetes and I think Jeff's mom's mom had it too, not sure of that though.
The pets are doing good too. Last month when all of us had a stomach flu, the poor cats did too. They are better now too.
Well, I guess that is it for now. I really gotta get some more pictures up on this thing.

Hello everyone, it is getting cold again here
Hello, it was real warm yesterday. In the low 70's . Today it is cold. It was 29 degrees Fahrenheit this morning when we took Sharon to the hospital for her tests. She had a endoscope of her stomach and gall bladder. She did just fine , came home and slept most of the day
Jewell is having fun watching the little girl in the next yard play. The girl will talk to Jewell and Jewell just loves it.Right Jewell is laying on the floor next to me , sleeping . She likes to know when I get up and do anything so she can make sure I don't disappear , I guess.
Had to go buy a sweeper today. A couple of days ago the old one blew up , literally. Jacob was sweeping the hallway. The sweeper made a loud bang, blew dust everywhere, and the little secondary filter on the side of it flew out and hit the wall. Poor Jacob jumped back about 5 feet and does not remember jumping , just landing. Part of the plastic piece that switches the sweeper from floor to accessories broke and blew up into the dirt cup. Not sure why it did that, it was only 10 years old, man they just don't make them like they used to.
Everyone around here is sneezing and coughing. With the warm weather off and on some of the trees are pollinating. The mountain Cedar is real bad right now.
The daffodils are blooming. They have decided it is time for spring. I am ready for the weather to decide what it wants to do , I am getting tired of getting cold or too warm when I go outside.
Well, talk some more later.

Ranting about politians
I was not paying that much attention , so I am not sure who it is. Some nitwit in the congress or the senate or something wants to force the supreme court to get a birth certificate for the president.
OK , I did not vote for President Obama, but he is the president .
His mother is an American citizen. Just do a genetic test to make sure she is his biological mother.
Unless the law has changed, if one of your parents is an American Citizen , that makes you and American citizen. I does not matter where you were born. You are a natural born American citizen. Does not matter where you were born, where the other parent was born. My sister was born in France when our father was stationed there for the Air Force. She is still a citizen.
I think some people have too much time on their hands. They have too much hate in there hearts, oh he is not a white man whose ancestors came over on the Mayflower, so he is not a citizen, give me a flippin' break.
Why don't you get involved in stirring things up where it really matters. Get involved in fighting abuse, whether it be against animals, children, old people , women, men , the planet in general.
Give it a rest already , you could not keep President Obama out of office by using the vote, you ain't going to do it with stupid lawsuits.
Well , I am done with that part.
I still miss Ruby . What happened to her should get people's blood boiling , not whether or not someone is an American citizen, the prez make it thru the campaign and election , let it rest and concern yourself about things that matter
Debra , not having the best couple of weeks so I am cranky

The Ice storm of 2009
Hello again,
Been lots of fun here in the last few days.
We had a winter storm earlier in the week. It sleeted for a while, so we had little ice balls all
over the place. Then we had a little freezing rain. It was not as bad as it was last winter.
The dogs are hilarious out in the yard. When the sleet was falling , it did not stick to it self , so you could kick it around. The first time Jewell went out in it the squirrel was on the fence. She ran
out into the yard and then slide into the fence. She was fine, didn't faze her at all. She kept trying
catch that stupid squirrel. Later she was running along the fence line and would stop , but she would slide and the ice pellets would fly around her. She kept doing it so I know she was playing.
The animals are finally getting over the stomach virus that everyone , including all of us, had.
We took Jewell in to get her shots, and we asked the vet about it , she said that there area lot of stomach viruses that you can give or get from your animals. Not really much to do about it except clean up until it is gone.
We have discovered one thing that is good. I had read in one of my groups, that a cat breeder would use pine word shavings for cat litter. I got a big bag of it at the farm store, it cost $5.
We did that two weeks ago and still have more than half of the bag left. It is a lot neater than the clay litter and there is almost no smell.
The kids have been home from school since Monday because of the ice. The side streets are bad, the main streets are clean. The buses have not been able to get through. Also , they have to make sure the school grounds are safe for the kids. Don't want anyone walking around to classes and fall and get hurt.
We really are not that well prepared for a lot of ice, snow , whatever , we only have it for a month or so, if that much . It would not be cost effective to be prepared like they are in the
snow belts.
Well , I need to go do some stitching on some of my stuff , more later.

New Year
Well, here we are in a new year already. Time sure does fly when you aren't looking.
Hope the new year is good for everyone.
One of our kittys has diabetes, we are treating him for that. His blood sugar is hard to regulate.
He seems to be doing OK. Leo has some neuropathy in his back legs. He walks flat footed with his back legs. it does not seem to be slowing him down any. He stills trys to jump on things when he should not. Oh, well, at least he is still enjoying life, although he still does not like the dog, Jewell , sniffing on him.
Jewell has been losing weight , not good in winter, so I got her some canned food. She needs to get some winter weight back on her. She tends to run alot so she needs the energy. Jewell has been off her food since we had to euthanize Ruby. It seems that she goes looking for her in the back yard sometimes, she wanders around with her tail droopy and her head down , sniffing around.
The weather around here can't make up it's mind. It is 25 degrees out one day , then the next day it is 55 or 65. Crazy stuff, no ice or snow yet , but then winter is not over.
While I write this , I am printing some stuff out and one of our cats has decided that he needs to see where the paper is coming from. At least he did not jam it up by putting his feet inside the area where the paper comes out , Duchess did that once. Crazy animals.
Well , tomorrow is inauguration day, I am going to tivo it because Jeff has to work. Love him or hate him , we have a new president. I hope the idiots are at a minimum. We don't need a bunch of trouble.
Oldest son Joe, got a job with a contractor at the air base near by, he is doing something with supplies , not really sure what. It is a temp job , hope it becomes permanent. He has a decent shot at getting permanent, the guy who runs it is a retired Air Force man , so Joe being a Marine is a good thing in eyes.
Sharon is still at Convergys with me . Same old thing for now. Yesterday was fun(NOT), the fiber optics that carry the Filipino and Vietnamese programing were out , and of course everyone called. There was message on the screen that said we are aware , no need to call, so guess what every one did ?............That's right! They called us . Now , before anyone says , that is because they could not read the English writing , I want you to know that folks who were born in the US do the exact thing. No one believes what the messages say , it is like , It don't apply to me. Just like a lot of other things. "Oh, that sign says , only 20 items , well , I am special , I will take my cart with a hundred items through the short lane."
Elizabeth is still working at Harry Bear's restaurant. The other day there was a biker wedding there. Liz said it was interesting. They parked their bikes in front of the restaurant, when they went to leave they revved all the bikes at once and she said the building rattled. They were all a pretty nice bunch.
Right now I am working on a baby quilt for a friend of Jeff's from work. As soon as I get that done I am going to work on a cross stitch picture of the Sistine Chapel. The picture will be 57 inches long and about 25 inches tall. I figure it will take me about two years , but I hope not that long.
Well , more about that later.
bye for now Debra

Doing better
Hey folks,
I am doing better. I still miss Ruby , but it is getting easier to deal.
Now, for some pet peeves.....................the people who make pop-ups and viruses ought to be flogged or something. I have spent a good portion of two days trying to get rid of some Trojans. spy ware, and a browser hi-jacker. It is a real pain......argh!!!!!........just had another one pop-up.I have STOPzilla running right now , we will see how well it does. My virus protector caught part of it , but some slipped through. I bet a bunch of new ones were just let loose.
In other news , I just finished a small wolf picture for Liz, just gotta get it framed.
I am working on a stamped cross stitch baby quilt for a co-worker/friend of my husband's.
I think it will be really cute, I am going to line it with some blue polyester satin when I get done.
Christmas was good , my daughter Sharon and her fiance got me a Victoria's Secret cologne, perfume and body lotion set. It is really pretty, not too strong.
I got Jeff a DVD recorder to hook up to the TV. It was a really good price, got it on sale. Jeff
is excited, he likes to record baseball stuff and will be able to save a bunch of space by getting rid of a bunch of VCR tapes.
Joe got himself his first car. It is a red version of my car, has a good amount of miles on it , but is in over all great shape. He is doing good, right now he is doing his monthly reserve duty. He worked at a temp job for the fall and is going for an interview next week for a permanent job.
Jacob got a harmonica for Christmas , he is really committed to learning how to play it. He is
enjoying it a lot. That was one of the best gifts he got he said, not sure if he likes the harmonica or the Narutoo game he got better.
Well, time to go , I have to go to work tomorrow. Be nice when we win the lottery , then I wont have to go to work....................ha ha ha . like that will ever happen. Well , good night, be back later.

Sad Day (there is one "bad" word in this post)
Hello everyone.
Today is a sad day for us.
We had to put one of our dogs to sleep . She attacked our other dog again . The time before this Jewell just got her ear bit. This time Ruby had hold of the side and throat of Jewell's neck .
The only thing that saved Jewell is that she has a lot of loose skin around her neck and Ruby could not bite down.We got them apart and I got bit by Ruby . When she realized what she had done , she looked real scared. I think she scared herself. Ruby was abused before I found her. She was afraid of everything. That fear did not go away , it just got worse. The poor thing could not control it anymore. Ruby was not able to overcome her fear. She was spayed , that helps sometimes. I was afraid she would hurt someone else or one of our other animals. I would not give her away, that would just make her more afraid. I did not want her to hurt someone else.
I have always said I would not have an aggressive dog. It is not fair to the dog , she could not be a dog, her fears were getting the best of her.
So we had to release from her fears. She has gone to be with God over the Rainbow Bridge.
She was a good dog and we loved her. She will be missed. The holes she dug in the yard were not that big a deal. Dirt takes care of the holes.
I loved the way her whole body would wiggle and giggle when she saw you. She loved to give you kisses. They were sloppy, but that is what water and soap are for.
Good by Ruby , you were a good dog. You will be missed. I just wish I could find the bastard that hurt you and made you afraid . I would introduce him to real fear so he would know what fear is like.
Ruby 2006 to December 8,2008

Hello everyone.
Talked to Joe again. He is still at training camp, probably wont be home until September, bummer,
but he will be home eventually.
He is supposed to get a strip within the next two weeks. He says he is OK, I think he is enjoying himself , except when he thinks about being away from the family. There is quite a bit of down time. One of those "hurry and wait in line " type of things.
He is anxious to get his training over with and then get back home to start his reserve marine career.
At least we get to either talk to him every day or email him.Sometimes we don't hear from him directly, he will call Ashlee, his girlfriend, first if he does not have much time. Which is fine, he needs to talk to her , too. As long as we know he is doing OK , that is all we need at this point.
I would love to have him home, but I know he has to do this to get ahead, and on with his life.
In other news I got a C-PAP machine, it is what you use when you have sleep apnea. I got that about a month ago and I already feel better. The swelling in my feet is much better, and I feel more rested in the morning, don't feel like I will fall asleep at the computer at work.
Started giving the dogs some supplementary fish oil with their food. Poor Ruby , the boxer mix has such dry skin , she scratches all the time. She is still scratching, but the pads of her feet and Jewell's feet feel a little bit better already.
Leo , one of our cats , now has diabetes. He is doing pretty good with GlipiZide. It is the same medicine doctors give to people. When we took him into the vet because he was loosing a lot of weight , fast, his blood sugar was 400, that is way too high. A cat's blood sugar level should be the same as a humans. That value is around 95. When we took him back for a two week check his sugar level was down to 210. That is a great response to the medicine. If he was going to need insulin, we would have had to euthanize him, cats don't do to good on insulin , it is really expensive and with other cats would be too hard to manage.Lucky for him and us he is doing good on the pills. He is getting his appetite back. Still acts like a baby though, gives us dirty looks when we give him his medicine, but he does not fight it, it is like he knows he has to have the medicine to stay healthy.
All the other cats are doing just fine.Still goofy animals, they keep us entertained.
Well, that is all for now.
be back later.

Joe is a Marine
Hey all, been a while since I was on here.
Well, Joe made it through boot camp, he came out as a Private. He did really good.
We had a visit and now he has left again for more training .
We got a good deal on our flight and hotel by going through Military.com. Jeff is
registered on that website because he has now retired from the Air Force Reserves.
We got very good deals from United Airlines. I was wondering why ExpressJet was not
on Military.com. Well, when I called them , I was told that ExpressJet does not give
discounts to anyone , including the military. I think that is dumb, especially considering one
of the places they go to is the same city that the marine boot camp is at.
Well, anyway, we had a good visit and now he has gone again for a while.
Here he is at boot camp.

Letter from Joe
We got a letter from Joe yesterday.
Did not say much in it , but then he did not have much time to write. He had to put in the letter stuff like , don't send food , don't decorate the envelope.....He does not want to bring extra attention from the DI to himself. The recruits get enough one on one time with the DI as it is.
From what I have been told the stuff you see in the TV shows and movies is pretty accurate. The last thing you want is more than the normal amount of the DI telling you what a mommas boy you are or you are a sissy or whatever he is picking on you now.
The weather here is cold right now. It is getting down into the 20's at night. It is supposed to start warming up now. The daffodils in my garden say so anyway, there is one little blossom is
trying to poke it's little out of the ground. The flower bed faces the west, so I generally get daffodils before the folks across the street. So spring is coming. Then again we can get some of our worst snow storms in March. So who knows , we just have to wait and see what happens.
My hubby is in the choir at church , he enjoys that a lot, unfortunately I am usually working on Sunday. So , I don't get to see him sing very often. I am hoping I am off on Easter though. Can you believe it is so soon already, March 23!...
Then again , I am supposed to have my schedule at least 3 weeks at a time. Guess what? Ain't happening. We have to go to one of the supervisors to get the schedule . That is a big pain. It is also very irritating. One of the things we agreed on was that we would have our schedules for 3 weeks out. Other wise I am not sure I would have taken a flex shift. A flex shift is where your days off will vary, number 1 pain the sit-down, and the start time-end time changes from week to week. Number 2 pain in the sit-down, start times are anywhere from 6:ooam to 8:45 am.
Going home time is anywhere from 2:45 to 5:30pm.Last week I had to be to work at 6:00am. this week I had to be in at 8:30pm. Next week I have to be in at 8:00am. Got stickers on the calendars so I know when I should be coming and going.
Well , that is enough rambling for now , be back again later, maybe with some pictures.

Joe and the Marines
Our oldest son left for Marine boot camp on Febuary 11,2008. He will be there for 14 weeks. We have not heard from him yet , but we were told to expect that. By the end of the week we should have his address at boot camp so we can write to him . If you are family or friend, call us and we will give you his address. Main thing is :no cookies, no perfumed letters, nothing that will bring undo attention to Joe. He will get enough attention as it is.
Oh, I need to ask. Has anyone tried to find stationary lately? I looked and looked at Wal~Mart and found two sets, both to fuffy for me , let alone for mailing to a marine. There is now such thing as a stationary department anymore. It is terrible, what is this world coming to?

It is getting pretty scary out there.
(I snagged this picture from flickr, I hope they don't mind)

Human Rights
Yesterday , the federal government of the United States of America indicted the people that are believed to have had a hand in planning the attacks on 9/11.
The man that is accused of planning the attack is Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. His confession to his role was obtained by a torture process called water boarding. It looks to me like trying to drown a person and then revive them. And yes I used the word TORTURE. It is an ugly word. A word we use to describe how foriegn countries treat prisoners. Not a word that should be in the American Justice System, and yet there it is for all the world to see.
I don't care what justification is used to say torture is ok. My opinion and the opinion of the United States Of America's founding fathers is that , everyone, repeat EVERYONE is entitled to just treatment. It does not distinguish between citizens and non citizens. It does not say, it is ok to torture that dark skined man over there because we think he bombed a building. He is innocent until proven guilty.
The men or women who tortured this man are criminals too. Mohammed's confession should be thrown out and he should be relased. He will not get a fair trial. His keepers screwed up royally by using torture on him. Who among you would not confess to anything your TORTURER wanted you to just so you could stand up and not feel like you were drowning.
If his keepers were so sure he did what he was accused of , why did they not use that evidence to convict him. Why did they have to torture him? Were they not confident they got the right man?Oh, and don't forget this man , regardless of how you feel about him, he is a man with basic human rights. We believe in human rights so strongly we even have a constitutional amendment that says that everyone has rights that are not to be infringed on because of their sex, their ETHNIC origins, among other things. Yet , those that are supposed to be the keepers of these ideals that we hold deat to our hearts, have violated that trust.
I dare anyone out to say I am not being patriotic by saying it was wrong to torture Mohammed. I am being patriotic by saying we should not condone this activity by remaining silent.
My children are patriotic because they agree that no one should be judged by the color of thier skin. Justice is not just for the people that we pick and choose, it is for everyone.Even Hitler and every despot there has ever been on earth deserve to have a fair hearing before thier peers.
When we start to condone torture in any form, we cease to be this great country that stands for justice and become the enemy. Do not look to closely for the enemy, because he/she might just be lookng back at you in the mirror. Take a look at the person in mirror. Do you like what you see?Do you see a person that believes in the sanctity of life, regardless of what religion they practice?Do you see a person that does not see the color of a man when you look at him?Do you see a man who will prove himself by his actions? Do like what you see in the mirror?Would you be ashamed to face your god?If you believe in God. I would like everyone to believe in God. But I don't base my feelings about a person on that belief. I base them on how that person is. I have seen people that called themselves godly, ministers even, that are just as animalistic as the meanest , nastiest mass murdering scum in the world. What you call yourself is not what you are, what you do is what you are.
Enough said

The Macy's Day Parade
Hello there, here I am back again with another rant and a complement .
Channel 4, which is our local NBC station showed the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, hurray for them.
Now the rant , first here is what I left on the message board at CBS...........I have to say that the coverage of the parade was lousy, just as the Oklahoma float and band came up the hosts were Oops time to go to a commercial , we dont want to show any thing about Oklahoma, it is thier 100th year as a state, cant let anyone know Oklahoma has something besides a dust bowl.
Get real guys, Oklahoma is up and coming. My husband is as mad as a wet hen, there was not enough of the Oklahoma part of the parade to tell what anything looked like. Some of the news people at CBS tried to put us down when the Murrah building was bombed. It is not acceptable for them to have a couple of talking heads up their yapping with celebrities about every thing but the parade. If you do that have a show for that , don't do it on a parade.
thank you for letting me vent.
OK , that being said I want to just put a little more in here.
CBS , Connie Chung, to be exact asked us if we could handle the Murrah bombing. Now CBS is dissing our float and one of our college bands.
Get real guys
We are not some backwards state that has nothing to offer the USA.
We have a great downtown with Brick Town, We have a real river now that has regattas on it.
We have a lot of celebrities that have come from Oklahoma, including astronauts, war heroes, country music stars, some hip hop stars, a lot of bands , just to mention a few of the great things that come from Oklahoma.
the bottom line is
'GET OVER YOURSELVES CBS AND
DON'T GO MESSING WITH US'
Every state has good things in it , why not report on that instead of disrespecting and important state such as Oklahoma.
OK , enough about that , how was your Thanksgiving day??? Nice and family oriented I hope.
peace go with you my friends

Ranting Again
What is it with some people.
Either they are spouting off with vulgar words and phrases or they are being down right nasty..
I was just on Photo Bucket looking at random pictures and right there in the middle of the G rated pictures are some pictures that are definitely pornographic.
I am not talking about mildly sexy or even very sexy. Nor am I talking about a girl standing naked in a bathroom with a towel barely covering her. I am talking about in your face sex acts.
Come on people , you want to take nasty pictures , help yourself , but make you nasty stuff private, dont let it out where my kid or someone elses kid can see it.
I know some people will say , well, just dont look at it. It is kinda hard not too when it is right there for God and everyone else to see, dont even get me started on the popular cartoon charactors I saw in there.
I learned real fast how to report those pictures/posters to the management at Photo Bucket.
